“So what?” seems to be the most dismissive and insensitive words one can say to someone who is in trouble. Of course, often it is. If someone says, “I’m hungry” or “I’m cold” and we respond by saying “So what?”, we are not to be commended. However, “So whats?” are given a bad wrap. When we decide never to use them, we can often make matters worse. This is particularly the case when unnecessary feelings of entitlement are at issue.
